Making Images

The 12 Zodiac Animals

This project was about recreating the 12 Zodiac animals with found materials. I approached this project with found objects within magazines which catergorised into the genre of food and furniture. Using both colour and also considering specific animal characteristics to help create these images and make them closely resemble the animal.

The beginning stages before my end results, this was where I started with outlines of the animal. Simple but also ceating the animals out of textured paper and also using colours that associate with the animal. Fruits was one of the set themes I was going for but I lack fruits and didn† have many fruits to differentiate between the 12 animals so I decided to go for a different approach.

The starting point of moving away from using the precision cutting of the animals as shown above, and moving into collaging with the use of magazines I have collected over the years.

These animals were altered as they did not look like the animal itself and were also out of place as the collage composition consist of the animal positioned on the right bottom corner and enlarged
