Development Sketches

In this project I was asked to go through the process of designing a logotype. Through this process I considered the five approaches to logotype design including: repetition of distinct forms, combination of elements, elimination of elements, fluctuating figure and ground and integration of geometric shapes. These approaches were used to create logos in the form of logotype, pictograph, ideograph, and monogram.

After my initial sketches in each category of logotype on the A3 sheet of paper, I went on to refine some of the ideas I thought were the most effective in displaying the characters while being visually intriguing.
