The brief was to take a series of 20 photographs, each of which communicates one of the 20 elements of design, as classed in Ellen Lupton and Jennifer Cole Phillips' 'Graph Design - The New Basics'.
The outcome would be these images, and short blurbs, which were meant to feel like a set, particularly through considering the application of a visual constraint, which the elements could be photographed and viewed from.
My concept was to explore the elements of design solely through oranges and mandarins. This medium was my constraint, alongside my consistent setting. I was challenged to find these many design elements in such simple, yet intricate fruits, with surprising potential.
