The Universal Sound of Music

This project uses hand mark making, explores the universal power of music to transcend language and cultural barriers, using a personal reflection on family heritage to illustrate interconnectedness.

This project explores the theme of interconnectedness, inspired by the way music unites people across cultures and languages. Drawing from my grandfather’s ability to connect others through song, the design emphasises the universal power of music. Influenced by typographic principles from Bi-Scriptual, I combined contrasting scripts to showcase harmony between typeface, language, and colour. Experimenting with acetate paper allowed the design to adopt a more fluid and flexible feel, aligning with the project's theme of dynamic connection.
