A poster that incorporates 3D typography made by hand.

A university project

My poster reflects how paper is used in everyday life, as well as in design. I wanted to show how the purposeful folds of origami could create something simple yet meaningful, thus playing with design is also something that can be enjoyed and serious. The paper texture of the bakcground ties the digital and 3D typography together into a space where viewers remember their own interactions with paper, and consider the potential designs from there.

Initial draft layouts of the poster varied in type tracking, alignment and separation. I took inspiration from Scher's own work, which often utilised bold sans-serif text, and arranged words at oblique angles.
