06 Collages

This university project consisted of producing a series of 8 square collages based on the phrase 'ONE PLANET.'

The collages portray the visual imagery of little girls nurturing the flora and fauna of Earth. The little girls symbolise childhood innocence, demonstrating that future generations (children) must care for nature. The motif of yellow symbolises the peacefulness need to nurture the planet.

Collage iterations

I experimented with a variety of collage techniques, including tearing/cutting, layering, use of hierarchy, use of words, substituting an area of an image, remixing already found images, gluing or using tape to stick down the images, use of colour and several more techniques. I also experimented with a variety of slogans and concepts.

I have annotated the areas I needed to improve in my collage designs. Thus, I settled on the slogan, 'ONE PLANET' and the concept of humans nurturing/caring for the planet, Earth.
